| The Nexans Systems industrial wireless LAN access point iWLAN-40-2 fulfils the requirements of industrial environments. It is equipped with a robust metal enclosure, as well as with wall and DIN rail mount possibilities. Two wireless LAN modules open up a wide range of WLAN deployment possibilities. High availability and link stability can be achieved by redundant use of the two WLAN connections. WLAN networks can be distributed by relaying them. The device also features two LAN interfaces for switched LAN and direct DSL connections via the built-in IP router and firewall. Redandant power feeding is available via 24 V DC, 12 V DC and 48 V DC (IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet). The device can be operated safely within a temperature range of -20° to +50° C. Without integrated heating and cooling, it ensures very low power consumption. Both of the two internal 108 Mbps WLAN radio modules support 5 GHz as well as 2.4 GHz according to 802.11a/h or 802.11b/g, respectively.
Two RP-SMA antenna connectors per radio module allow connecting the extensive AirLancer Extender antenna portfolio, including polarization diversity antennas for challenging RF environments. Maximum security on the WLAN is ensured by the IEEE 802.11i/WPA2 standard, optionally enhanced with LEPS (individual passphrases) and IEEE 802.1x / RADIUS. Further security features like rogue AP detection or port and protocol filters for WLAN complete the cutting edge security feature set. On the WAN and LAN side, this is accompanied by a stateful inspection firewall with intrusion prevention and bandwidth management.
Professional network configuration and monitoring applications are part of the standard package. An optional large scale WLAN management system provides server based management and WLAN intrusion detection.
